The Manaslu Circuit Walk is a strenuous and lonely trek through Nepal’s Himalayas that passes through a variety of environments, societies, and terrains. The walk encircles Manaslu, the eighth-highest mountain in the world, and provides amazing views of both the summit and other nearby peaks. The walk starts in the Gorkha district’s small village of Arughat and proceeds along the Budhi Gandaki River before ascending to the Larkya La Pass, the route’s highest point at an elevation of 5,106 metres (16,752 feet).

The walk looks into the local way of life as it goes past traditional Gurung and Tibetan communities. The trail leads to a feeling of adventure and discovery and is less crowded than other well-known treks in Nepal. Depending on the schedule and your pace, the trek can be completed in 12 to 22 days. However we provide the Manaslu Circuit trek for 14 days.

The Manaslu Circuit Trek must be completed with a certified trekking agency, a guide, or a porter and requires a special permit. Due to the local monsoon season, the trek is only accessible to hikers from September to November and from March to June.

Guided Group Treks – What Are They?

The practice of hiking or backpacking across wilderness or hilly locations with a group of people is called group trekking. This can range from day hikes to multi-day backpacking expeditions, including guided and self-directed tours. Trekking in group joining is a standard method to enjoy the outdoors and may provide a sense of support and companionship as well as the chance to pick the brains of more seasoned hikers. Safety precautions and careful planning are crucial when taking part in group trekking.

Group trekking has a lot of benefits as well as drawbacks. Below we have listed them. So now consider these lists whenever you travel to a country for a group trekking.

Advantages of Trek Group Joining Include:

  1. Safety: Taking a group on a hike can boost safety because more people will be on hand to help in an emergency or disaster.
  2. Support: Group hiking can be physically and emotionally supportive, especially for those who lack experience or aren’t as physically fit.
  3. Cost: Because transportation, guides, and permit costs can be split among the group, group trekking may be more affordable.
  4. Social aspect: Group trekking may be a joyful and social event that fosters friendships and camaraderie among hikers.

Disadvantages of Trek Group Joining Include:

  1. Less flexibility: Because the group’s pace and schedule must be considered, group trekking may need to be more adaptable than solo trekking.
  2. Less intimate experience: Going on a trek with a group can limit your time alone and for introspection.
  3. Group dynamics difficulties: Like personality conflicts or arguments, can impair group travelling.
  4. Noise pollution: Noisy hikers and those who violate the trek’s natural environment are also risks associated with large groups of hikers.
Various landscape in Manaslu Circuit Trek Group Joining

It’s important to remember that going on a group trek may be a fantastic choice for some people but not others. In the end, it comes down to individual needs and preferences. Before choosing between a group trek and a solo journey, one should balance the advantages and disadvantages.

Group Joining Date

Although we run family, couple, and private treks throughout the year, we have set departing schedules for group joining trips. It enables a lone hiker to form a team and make the experience unforgettable. Additionally, group treks may be less expensive since you will share your guide and travel with some other team members.

Cost for Manaslu Circuit Trek Group Joining

Depending on the size of the party, the terrain, the degree of difficulty, and any other facilities required or desired, the cost of group trekking might vary significantly. The length of the trek, the quality of lodging sought or needed, the services or guides necessary along the route, the cost of getting to and from base camps, the availability of supplies while on the trek, and permit fees are additional variables that might affect cost.

Due to economies of scale, trek group joining can be significantly more economical than individual trekking. For instance, larger parties frequently obtain savings on equipment rentals such as tents or stoves due to bulk orders. Comparably, allocating transportation costs for pick-ups and drops between members can result in significant savings over time. In addition, sharing a guide among a group of people may result in lower costs per person than hiring a guide separately for each visitor.

Day 01: Kathmandu – Arughat to Sotikhola (710 M)

8-9 hrs

After breakfast, we will board a bus from Kathmandu and go to the eastern slopes of the Dhading district after breakfast. Your day begins with a steep highway journey that takes you to the settlements of Arughat. The breathtaking scenery along this trip will give your journey the perfect boost. Your day will come to a close in Soti Khola, close to the lovely Budi Gandaki River. When you get here, you can go on a brief village tour.

Day 02: Sotikhola – Labubensi to Machhakhola (869 m)

5-6 hrs

Your day will begin with a mindblowing sunrise over the mountains. The day’s first part is spent travelling to the Labubensi settlement(884 m) via luxuriant Sal forests. To get to Khanbensi, we’ll walk alongside the lovely Budi Gandaki River, passing through several small Gurung communities. Some steep and challenging sections of the Manaslu trail are also accessible from Khanbensi on the way to Maccha Khola. The final stretch of today’s walk is constrained, so you must exercise caution around the approaching mules and donkeys. Spent the night at a lodge in Macchakhola, a Gurung settlement.

Day 03: Machha Khola – Khorla Bensi to Jagat (1400 m)

7-8 hrs

We begin the day by crossing the Machha Khola for the first time and then hiking up the trail past a few Gurung towns and hill farmlands. We will arrive at the settlement of Khorla Bensi if we continue on this trail. You can sip on the organic coffee offered here during your quick break. To get to Tatopani, we’ll stroll via the paths cut through the hillside trees. The hot springs in Tatopani are a great location to unwind for a moment and wash away your fatigue. From here, we will cross a steel bridge to get to the settlement of Dovan (1070 m). We will arrive at the lovely Gurung settlement of Jagat after passing via the communities of Thulo Dunga and Yaruphant on the opposite side of the Budi Gandaki. Sleep at a lodge in Jagat.

Day 04: Jagat – Sirdibas – Nyak Phedi to Pewa (1750 m)

6-7 hrs

We shall get our permits to the Manaslu region examined here in Jagat in the morning. In the interim, you can go on a cultural village tour in this area with a Himalayan view. From Jagat and Salleri, we will climb up to the Suspension bridge. The section from Jagat to Sirdibas is mostly level and offers beautiful views of the Siringi Himal (7161 m). From Sirdibas, we will trek for about an hour to get to the Philim Village, crossing the Gandaki River once more. We will pause for lunch here before continuing on foot through Eklebhatti to Nayapul (the new bridge). From here in Nayapul, the trek paths to Tsum valley and Pewa diverge.

Day 05: Pewa-Deng-Rana-Bihi Phedi to Ghap (2165 m)

5-6 hrs

Compared to the last few days, today’s walk will be shorter, allowing us to take in the scenery and stop at the lovely intermediate locations. We shall traverse a gorge to get to Deng and proceed alongside the Budi Gandaki. Reach the settlement of Rana(1980 m) by ascending from the opposite side through the Pine forest. Ascend to Bihi Phendi and pass over the Serang Khola gorge. You will arrive in the Ghap settlement late afternoon after crossing the Budi Gandaki. In Ghap, spend the night at a lodge.

Day 06: Ghap – Namrung-Lihi to Lho (3180 m)

5-6 hrs

Today will begin with a cup of revitalising tea before we spend the early morning travelling to Namrung village. Alongside the gorge, the walk winds through pine and rhododendron trees. Additionally, during the Manaslu circuit trek length, one can see a variety of stunning Himalayan and migratory species. We would traverse the gorge from a wooden bridge to reach Namrung village. The second checkpoint on your hike, Namrung, offers stunning views of Siringi Himal and Ganesh. You may see these mountains when going from Lihi and Lamagaon to Lho. In addition, one can hike to Ribung Gompa and then return to Lho. Lodge in Lho for the night.

Day 07: Lho-Syala to Samagaun (3525 m)

3-4 hrs

The journey from Lho to Samagaun is blessed with breathtaking scenery and lovely mountain flowers. One can also enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Manaslu and the surrounding ranges from the viewpoints in the locations along the walk. Our trek’s halfway point, Syala will have magnificent rhododendron forests and crystal-clear streams. You can reach Samagaun village from here by walking for an hour. Most hikers continue their journey and return to Samagaun for better acclimatisation outcomes. Samagaun lodging for the night.

Day 08: Rest day in Samagaun (3525 m)

2-4 hrs

For Himalayan trekking to be both safe and prosperous, acclimatisation is essential. At 3525 metres above sea level, Samagaun is the ideal location to rest and make plans for upcoming treks. Your visit is worthwhile because of the picturesque mountain vistas from the village. There are several opportunities for quick hikes all around Samagaun. Some of the most well-liked trekking locations from Samagaun include Punggyen Gompa, Manaslu Base Camp, Monastery of Sama town, and Birendra Tal. Take in the Himalayan sunset while taking a day of rest here. Stay the night in a lodge.

Day 09: Samagaun to Samdo (3875 m)

3-4 hrs

Most of today’s trip is uphill, with some complex curves leading to Samdo village. You will get views of the Birendra Tal and the Manaslu Glacier the entire time we walk to Samdo. We can see the nearby ridge to the Lajyang La pass in the trail’s midsection (5098 m). As we make our way to the Samdo settlement, we will pass through a pasture, yak grazing fields, and Mani walls. One can witness the bright reflection of those regions’ culture and art here, close to the Tibetan border. In Samdo, spend the night at a lodge.

Day 10: Samdo to Larkye Bazaar to Dharamsala (4460 m)

3-4 hrs

With plenty of time to spare, the trek from Samdo to Dharamsala serves as a warm-up for your ascent to the Larkye La pass (5160 m). As we descend to the Budi Gandaki River, we will go past the chortens and Mani walls. We will arrive at the famed Larkye Bazaar after navigating the wooden bridge. The route to Tibet that leads to Lajyang and Gyala diverges from Larkye Bazaar. It was one of the central Himalayas’ most essential trade midpoints. As we ascend farther, we shall reach Dharamsala via the Mani walls. Take a day of rest and be ready for the Larkye La Pass. In Dharamsala, spend the night at a lodge.

Day 11: Dharamsala to Larkye Pass 5160 metres to Bimthang (3590 m)

7-8 hrs

The most difficult part of the walk is the challenging climb up to Larkye La pass. The trail runs parallel to the glacier’s horizontal moraine. For a safe route from Larkye La passes to Bimthang, heed the advice of your guide. The steep and slick areas will be the most challenging as we approach the summit. Prayer flags greet you as you enter Larkye La Pass and take in the breathtaking panorama of Manaslu, Himlung, Kang Guru, and Annapurna II. After spending some time here, begin the descent to Bimthang. The majority of this section is smooth and descends more than 1400 metres to Bimthang hamlet. Take in the lovely sunset from the nearby ridge before retiring for the day. Bimthang lodge overnight.

Day 12: Bimthang to Yak Kharka to Gho to Tilije (2300 m)

6-7 hrs

We will quickly descend to Kechyaku Khola Glacier to begin our day before crossing it. To get to Yak Kharka, we will hike across red slopes covered with rhododendron woodland. Rhododendrons have a variety of hues during their March and April flowering periods. Additionally, this journey offers a stunning vista of Manaslu’s many faces across the highlands. We shall descend from subtropical to Alpine woodlands as we lead you to Karche. After eating lunch, we will cross the Gurung settlement of Gho. You will have more possibilities to experience Himalayan culture and way of life if you take a quick tour of Gho. You may reach the historic Gurung village of Tilije by walking for another hour. Tilije lodge overnight.

Day 13: Tilije – Dharapani – Tal to Besisahar (760 m)

5-6 hrs

To begin the hike, we will descend to the Marsyangdi Valley and the Dudh Khola Bridge. We will descend further to reach the Annapurna Circuit Trek’s main path after viewing the terrain change from here. These two routes will converge in Dharapani, where we’ll also eat lunch. We’ll have one more look at our permissions before heading toward Tal. We will next ride a rented jeep to Besisahar from here. Most trekking routes to the western Himalayas and Annapurna begin at Besisahar. Enjoy the remainder of the day by taking a trip – Besisahar lodging for the night.

Day 14: Besisahar to Kathmandu (1350 m)

6-7 hrs

You can choose between taking a shared or a personal jeep to return to Kathmandu after breakfast.
