Manaslu Serang Gompa Trek Facts
Manaslu Serang Gompa Trek Overview
The Manaslu Serang Gompa Trek is an amazing trek set out for the natural scenes and Dharamsala. This trek exhibits the great magnitude of the Manaslu region, providing a close look at great Himalayan passes, Local tribes, and Monasteries, including the beautiful Serang Gompa. The trek's main attractions are the most beautiful Larkya Pass (5,160m).
In addition, during the treks, tourists and trekkers get a view of the Buddhist religion and ways of living of the Himalayan people. This trek is more suitable for adventure lovers looking for hard trekking and a calm cultural experience.
Serang Monastery
Situated on the southern slopes of the Himalayas, on the boundary between Nepal and Tibet, Serang Monastery, also called Nubri Monastery, is an important Buddhist sanctuary. Also known as the "Valley of Happiness" and "Valley of Peace," this ancient monastery is housed inside the Kyimolung Beyul. Guru Padma Sambhva foretold the valley as a Beyul in the eighth century.
Of the twelve outlying monasteries in the area, Serang Monastery is the main monastery in Kyimolung Beyul. Monks and nuns from about 12 distant monasteries travel to this serene Gompa to receive instruction at the Serang Shedra (Scripture College) because of its distinguished reputation for providing top-notch Dharma education.
Because of their confidence and understanding of the importance of the Serang/Nubri Community, the Nepali citizens seek the Nubri monks and nuns even for rituals and ceremonies.
Larkya Pass La
One of the highest and longest trekking passes in the world is Larke La Pass 5160m. The Manaslu Circuit trip includes it.
The elevation of Larkya La is 5,106 meters above sea level. It serves as a connector for the hikes to Bhimtang Valley and Manaslu Base Camp. The Larkya Peak is the source of the pass's name. The Annapurna region's Larkya Peak is a 6,249-meter-tall mountain. The trail leads to Manaslu's right sub-peak.
Larkya Pass is close to the boundary between China and Nepal. It serves as a link between the Annapurna and Manaslu conservation areas. The Larkya Pass Trek is another name for trekking the Manaslu Circuit. The Manaslu Circle trek requires hikers to traverse a steep, lengthy mountain route.

While planning the Manaslu and Annapurna Circuit treks, you must need the permits which are the Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP), the Restricted Area Permit (RAP), and the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP). Without these permits entry and trekking through these areas is not allowed in Central Himal.
Toilet facilities are important concerns bearing in mind that many of these treks are undertaken at high altitudes. First and foremost, one should consult a doctor on the condition to prepare for, carry medicines, and a simple first aid kit since acclimatization is paramount to avoid altitude sickness. Appropriate clothing and equipment are also required in these treks so as to address the changing climates that are experienced.
Make sure you have comfortable warm clothing together with waterproof clothing and appropriate trekking shoes. Also, the use of professional guides is encouraged because of the technical nature and challenging terrain of the trail and also because the trek takes you through relatively isolated areas of the country.

Amazing Manaslu Serang Gompa Trek
We trekked the 14-day Manaslu Circuit using Himalaya Guide Nepal. The company’s owner, Chandra Gurung, started our wonderful experience months ago by being incredibly responsive to all our communications, promptly answering our questions, and offering advice when necessary. Salman, our trekking guide, met us at the airport and made plans for us to meet the next day at the HGN offices.
We were eager and well-prepared for our trek when we left the meeting. Salman and our porter Lakpa, were excellent throughout the trek. They were amiable, upbeat, well-organized, had a good sense of humor, and were well-versed in the Manaslu circuit. We had a terrific time with them. Salman kept a close eye on us while we were hiking, checked in with us, and ensured we were

Manaslu Circuit with Visit to Syarang Gumpa
We had a fantastic trek around the Manaslu. We sought out a local organization and found Himalayan Guide Nepal, which offered competitive all-inclusive packages and options for side tours and specials. After a live WhatsApp contact, we felt confident. Chandra Gurung organized a specific side trip for us, including a visit and meditation in the Serang Gompa, one of the Five Hidden Valleys monasteries.
Chandra also provided our guide, his brother Dinesh, upon our request. Dinesh is fluent in English and is a dedicated, careful, and responsible guide, leader, and teacher. He chose the best spots, with rooms offering the nicest views and sanitary conditions wherever possible. The daily briefings were accurate, and he offered small adaptations when needed. On our acclimatization day in Samagaun, he allowed us to reach the Manaslu base camp—great! When we were tired in Bimthang, we adjusted our plans after consultation.
Dinesh was incredibly attentive, and caring for us and the porters, always dedicated and eager to help, making our adventure a fantastic, stress-free experience. We have always trusted Dinesh, a top guide in a top organization.

Fantastic Experience with Himalaya Guide Nepal,Thank You So Much!
We had a fantastic Manaslu Trekking Tour in October 2023, thanks to Mr. Chandra and his team. Our guide was Mr. Dinesh, Mr. Chandra’s brother. Everything was perfectly organized from the very beginning, including early preparations six months in advance. We had several email exchanges and a live WhatsApp meeting to discuss the program. Mr. Chandra listened carefully to our expectations and tailored the trip exactly to our needs. He also facilitated support for a local school, which was very impressive.
From our arrival at Kathmandu airport until the end of our adventure, we were guided by Dinesh. He was highly responsible, extraordinarily friendly, very skillful (teaching us about the mountains, local culture, Buddhism, & nature), attentive, and patient, encouraging us when necessary (the trip was sometimes challenging). He managed every day of the trip perfectly. We felt well-supported and perfectly safe. We are so thankful to Dinesh and the two helpers, Govinda and Rajan!
We ended our fantastic three-week travel to Nepal with a sightseeing day in Kathmandu. Unfortunately, one day was far too short to explore this fascinating city. However, this day was perfectly organized, very relaxing, and interesting.
We have traveled to many countries, and Himalaya Guide Nepal is one of the best travel organizations we’ve experienced. We are so thankful for the great experience and friendship. If any of you guys are planning to do the Manaslu circuit or any other adventurous trip to Nepal, please do not hesitate to choose Himalaya Guide Nepal. We highly recommend Himalaya Guide Nepal company.

Manaslu Circuit Trekking With Serang Gompa
We planned this trip in April 2023. From the beginning, we could ask anything, suggest adjustments, and customize everything. We had a video call on WhatsApp with Chandra Gurung, which gave us a great sense of trust and the possibilities available. We read excellent reviews about guide Dinesh Gurung, and he truly exceeded our expectations: dedicated, flexible, interested, and always seeking the best options for our group.
We appreciate the immense responsibility he took on for us. We had engaging and insightful conversations (Dinesh even holds a master’s degree in English literature). Prices were fair, with no disputes along the way; we knew exactly what was included and what wasn’t. I don’t think there’s a better choice for a Manaslu Circuit trekking. The side trip to Serang Gompa was worth the three extra days!
Thank you so much, Himalaya Guide Nepal Pvt. Ltd team Dinesh, Chandra, Rajan, and Govinda, for everything!!
